Early miles: running routes we actually love
We started running here because the gym membership felt like homework. The city, somehow, did not.

East Coast Park (8–12 km loops): Flat, breezy if you catch the right morning, and full of uncles on foldable bikes who will absolutely overtake you. We usually start near Bedok Jetty and turn around when the hawker smells become too persuasive.
Marina Bay waterfront: Touristy, yes — and also gorgeous at sunrise. We do this one when we want a "we live somewhere cinematic" reminder after a long week of Zoom decks.
MacRitchie / park connector links: For days when we want shade and monkeys who judge our pacing. Bring water. Respect the macaques. Do not negotiate with the macaques.
Running has become how we claim the city: not as visitors chasing attractions, but as people who know which water fountain works and which 7-Eleven has the coldest electrolyte drinks.
