When family finally made it to Singapore
We had been promising "come visit when we're settled" for months. Then suddenly there were air mattresses, TransitLink cards, and a shared Notes app titled Do Not Miss.

Highlights, in no particular order: chili crab that required a second shower, the Gardens by the Bay light show (Molly cried; she will deny this), a too-ambitious Sentosa day, and Alex's dad discovering kopi-o and deciding American drip coffee had been lying to him.
The best parts were quieter. Grocery shopping at FairPrice. Showing them our running route from a shaded bench. Hearing Molly's mom say, carefully, "I can see why you stayed."
Hosting family abroad is its own love language — exhausting, tender, and proof that the life you're building can hold more than two people.
